Kikoin is a surname born by two academics (brothers, I guess, and at least one of them is really academician)who have written the textbook we learn physics upon in school
the surname sounds — to my taste — quite mortuary. Sounds like pokoynik — (deceased, late, dead man)

See- to *me* a mortuary is a noun- it is a place, rather than an adjective, as you have used it here.
But... I really LIKE that sometimes you choose unusual words to say what you say!
(I have never heard anyone say Mind-Whirling before, but since you said it, I have said it many times!!!)
